So Many Toner Cartridges, So Little Time

There are so many toner cartridges out there on the market today, it seems more complex than a small country’s economy. Available from all types of manufacturers such as Brother, Canon, Lexmark, Epson, and Samsung, there are so many types available. Laser, inkjet, and several other kinds of color and black and white toner cartridges are out there for the consumer. Luckily, there are many review sites available to help us pick out which ones may be helpful and which may be to expensive.

Some printer cartridges, like the Brother TN-115C High Yield Toner Cartridge Compatible with Brother HL-4040CN, HL-4070CDW Series retail from almost $90 new, but you can sometimes find it used for around $40. On the other hand, a Brother TN360 High Yield Black Toner Cartridge retails for around $43 new and can go as low as $17 new. $17 to $90 is quite a difference, which is why selecting a printer that will fulfill your demands in the long run (not just at the initial purchase) is so important.

If you are more specialized with your printing needs and less general, you may find yourself paying a lot more than the average consumer that only prints out a document every once and a while. Certain laser drum cartridges utilize certain colors (cyan, magenta, yellow, etc.) that can drive the price of the cartridges up quite a bit.

For the average person, a simple inkjet cartridge for around $20 or so will cover what they need with no problems. If you are involved in more intensive printing uses and you do not have a commercial vendor to do it for you, then you may want to consider the amount you’ll need and which types will help you with your high output versus the price you are willing to spend on the printer cartridges.
